Can the others in the meeting see it?
Yes. Poof works through Zoom's Camera Mode, so everyone sees your video with the effect on top. That's the whole point.
Will people notice my stand-in is a loop?
It's hard to spot. Poof hides the moment the clip starts over, lines it up with your room and matches its colours. It works best if you record it in the same spot and light, looking at the screen and keeping fairly still.
What if someone talks to me while I'm away?
Your stand-in can't answer, of course. With auto-mute on, Poof mutes you while you're away and offers to unmute you when you click I'm back. For anything longer than a coffee run, a quick note in the chat is the polite move.
How long can I step away?
As long as you like. The clip keeps looping until you click I'm back.
Can Poof change other people's video?
No. Poof only changes your own picture.
Does Poof record my meeting?
No. The only thing ever recorded is your stand-in clip, and you record that yourself, in your browser, before you need it.
What does it cost? Do I need an account?
Poof is free and has no accounts. All you need is the Zoom App.
Which computers does it work on?
The Zoom desktop client on macOS and Windows. Phones and tablets aren't supported yet.
Why does my vanish leave a faint trace?
The light or the room changed since you captured it. Capture the empty room again and the trace is gone.
Can I use it with a work Zoom account?
Often, yes. If your Zoom account is managed by an organization, your admin may need to allow Poof first.
How do I remove it?
In the Zoom App Marketplace, go to Manage, then Added Apps, and click Remove next to Poof. The user guide walks you through it.
